building strength,stability, and self-reliance
“Homeownership is important for my family because moving around is difficult with small children, and my kids need a stable, secure place to live.”
Bianca Eleazar, Habitat Homeowner
everyone deserves a decent home
This ride is true to its name. It’s about creating a cycle of hope, a chance for a family to change their lives and, in turn, the lives of their children, and every generation that will follow.
Cycle of Hope benefits Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley believes in a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and we start right here at home, in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara counties. Here, where homeownership is unfortunately the privilege of the few, we bring that dream within reach of families with limited incomes. And that dream goes far beyond walls and windows. It’s the child with a quiet place to study. It’s a rainy day fund, a college savings plan, a retirement account. It’s a revitalized community, made up of engaged people invested in its future. It’s the Veteran with a safe, stable environment in which to age in place.
Through our Homeownership Program, Habitat creates new opportunities by building and renovating homes and selling them to families with limited incomes through stable, affordable mortgages.
Through Home Preservation, we sustain affordable homeownership where it stands and beautify neighborhoods, helping low-income homeowners stay in their homes by making vital repairs and modifications.
And by offering Housing Counseling, we prepare the next wave of potential homeowners by equipping them with the financial skills they need to take on that responsibility successfully and sustainably.
When you ride Cycle of Hope, you help us create real, profound, and lasting change. You are the force that propels a family out of a month-to-month existence, and into a future of strength, stability, and self-reliance.
