By registering for Cycle of Hope, you’re already supporting Habitat for Humanity’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. But why stop there? Get your friends, family, and entire cheer squad to help you go above and beyond to raise funds and impact our community’s affordable housing crisis! Every dollar counts, and you will be helping families create strong communities, stable environments for their children, and life-changing opportunities.

Fundraising is easier than you think. You can quickly create and share a fundraising page that includes plenty of support from the Habitat team. The top fundraisers will earn VIP treatment on ride day, special recognition and, most importantly, bragging rights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is fundraising mandatory?

You are not required to fundraise for Cycle of Hope, but it is highly encouraged. There is no minimum amount for your fundraising goal. We believe everyone has the right to a decent, affordable place to live. For over 30 years, our community of volunteers, donors, and staff have built and repaired homes for thousands of our neighbors. Every donation you raise helps these families.

What do I do if there are problems with the fundraising page?

Do I have to join a team?

No, that is not necessary.  However, if you decide to join one, please contact Mae Pennington at (510) 803-3385 or at mpennington@habitatebsv.org with that information and she will make the arrangements.

What it the best way to raise money?

Ask your friends, family, and coworkers to help you out.  You can also spread the word on social media, listing the link to your personal fundraising page. See our tips and tricks list HERE.

What can I do with cash or checks that people give me personally for the event?

Please send cash or checks to Mae Pennington c/o HEBSV, 2619 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612.  If possible, please provide the names and addresses of those donors so we can give them a tax-deductible receipt and so that we can credit your fundraising page.

Can I get a refund?

Yes if you contact us before the event. Please contact Mae Pennington at (510) 803-3385 or at mpennington@habitatebsv.org to have a refund issued.

All money benefits Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley.  At Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley, we believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to call home. Within that home a family can find the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life. Your Cycle of Hope fundraising page is an easy way to raise the support Habitat needs to create affordable homeownership opportunities for families. By fundraising, you’ll help families go the distance – investing in their futures and building strong communities and legacies to last generations.

Now that you’re on the road to fundraising, here are some quick tips to help you maximize your efforts:

  1. First, set-up your page. You’ll get a unique URL and be able to customize your message. Make your message personal. Why do you support Habitat?
  2. Set a goal. Make it ambitious but achievable.
  3. Set an example and make a gift yourself. If you are able, make your gift a matching opportunity.
  4. Share, share, share your fundraising efforts on social media, email, or good ole’ fashion calling!
  5. Ask close friends if they will help you fundraise.
  6. Is there a business you frequent? Ask them to support you.
  7. Link your fundraising to a special date like a birthday or anniversary. Or make it in honor of someone special in your life.
  8. Be sure to thank supporters as quickly as possible.
