This ride is true to its name. It’s about creating a cycle of hope for families who partner with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. It’s about raising funds that provide parents the tools and opportunities to change their lives and, in turn, the lives of their children, and every generation that will follow.
When you sign up to ride Cycle of Hope, you directly benefit Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. However, when you get your friends, family, and entire cheer squad involved, you can double your impact!
Fundraising is easier than you think. With plenty of support from your Habitat Fundraising Coach, you can quickly create and share a fundraising page. The top fundraisers will earn VIP treatment on ride day, prizes, and bragging rights!
Fundraise on your own, or team up with other riders and pool your efforts. Either way, every dollar you raise will make a difference.
HOW TO FUNDRAISE
CLAIM – An email will be sent to you that has a unique link for your fundraising page. Click the “Claim your fundraising page” to get started!
CUSTOMIZE—Tell everyone why YOU are riding for Habitat. Have a favorite picture of yourself building on a Habitat for Humanity work site? Post it! Have a story about when you or someone you know was impacted by housing insecurity? Tell it! We all have unique connections to the housing crisis and we all have a shared goal of building more affordable homes.
CONNECT—We have so many means of connection these days–use them to support your fundraising efforts. Share a fun photo and your fundraising page via Instagram, put the link in your signature block, and post about it on Twitter. The Habitat fundraising team will be with you every step on your fundraising journey, offering tips and guidance.
THANK!—It is so important to thank your donors for supporting our cause of more affordable housing. This can be as simple as a quick text or call saying “thanks for the support, Grandma!” After the ride, make sure to let your network know how it went by sharing pictures and your final fundraising total.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is fundraising mandatory?
You are not required to fundraise for Cycle of Hope, but it is highly encouraged. There is no minimum amount for your fundraising goal. We believe everyone has the right to a decent, affordable place to live. For over 30 years, our community of volunteers, donors, and staff have built and repaired homes for thousands of our neighbors. Every donation you raise helps these families.
What do I do if there are problems with the fundraising page?

Do I have to join a team?
No, that is not necessary. However, if you decide to join one, please contact Mae Pennington at (510) 803-3385 or at firstname.lastname@example.org with that information and she will make the arrangements.
Can I use the Facebook Fundraiser platform to fundraise?
We highly encourage you to use the Cycle of Hope fundraising page you receive when you register. You can easily share your Cycle of Hope fundraising page url on Facebook to reach more friends and family. There are many tools built into the Cycle of Hope fundraising platform that allow you to customize your page with photos and space to express why you’re riding for more affordable housing.
If you do end up using the Facebook Fundraiser platform, please send an email to email@example.com alerting us of the page so that we can appropriately track the donations and credit your fundraising page.
What it the best way to raise money?
Ask your friends, family, and coworkers to help you out. You can also spread the word on social media, listing the link to your personal fundraising page. See our tips and tricks list HERE.
What can I do with cash or checks that people give me personally for the event?

If possible, please provide the names and addresses of those donors so we can give them a tax-deductible receipt. Also, please make sure your name is included and so that we can credit your fundraising page.
