together, we ride (sTILL)

To keep our community safe in the face of a health crisis, we’re introducing Cycle of Hope: Ride from Home, a charity cycling ride benefiting Habitat for Humanity. It means you can still make a difference – at a distance.

Cycle of Hope: Ride from Home helps participants meet their goals while offering a premier ride experience with a selection of custom courses, stacked swag bags, and an ongoing community of fellow cyclists. However, Ride from Home is done your own way on your own time – whether you’re reaching your goal distance outdoors on a curated Cycle of Hope course or on a course of your own design, with friends, or on your own.

Just as you ride to support Habitat for Humanity, we’ll support you as you cross your personal finish line, achieve your fitness goals, and ride toward our shared purpose – to benefit Habitat’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope.

So, even as we’re apart – together, we ride.

Choose your distance goal

Cycle of Hope has a distance goal at every level — whether you ride with our 11-mile club, 32-mile club, Metric Century club, Century club, or our fun Kids’ club!

You can ride for Habitat along an official Cycle of Hope route in Silicon Valley or the East Bay, or design your own path to meet your distance goal!

However you choose to reach your goal, Cycle of Hope will support you on your way to the finish line using our official ride app, RaceJoy, for a premier cycling experience to track your ride and get your results, get turn-by-turn directions on all Cycle of Hope routes, share your progress with friends and family so they can send you support along the way, hear from our cheer squad, and much more!

sTEP 2: Register & Share

Once you’ve chosen your distance, it’s time to register!
As you register, tell us how you’ll meet your goal:

  • Using one of our official curated routes in Silicon Valley or the East Bay
  • Or designing your own course!

Sign up to ride solo or as a team at a safe distance. Once you’re registered, it’s the perfect time to invite your friends and family to join you! Not only does it get more people pedaling for affordable housing – it can earn you exclusive referral perks, too!

sTEP 5: Pick a Day & Ride

The official ride period for each distance is between October 10th and October 25th.

Pick a day(s)* and a time during the official ride period and fire up RaceJoy to track your progress and get your official results. Plus, use RaceJoy to get messages from friends, family, and Cycle of Hope’s cheer squad to keep you motivated as you cross your finish line!

All riders who reach their goal will be honored as official Distance Club Finishers during our October 24th virtual finish line!

*If you would like to reach your distance goal over multiple days or on a stationary trainer, please contact Hilda Schmelling to learn how to submit your results!

Why ride?

Last year, more than 1,000 riders, volunteers and community supporters raised critical funds to benefit Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley.

This year, while we’ll be riding together in spirit, the mission we’re riding for is more urgent than ever. We ride in the shadow of a pandemic that has kept us sheltered at home – and brought to the surface how many of our neighbors are housing insecure, on the brink of displacement, living in unsafe or unhealthy conditions, or simply have no home in which to shelter.

We ride for home. We ride for hope. We ride to bring more of both within reach of our neighbors, in an area where so few can afford a decent place to live, at a time when safe, healthy housing is desperately needed,

When you register and fundraise as part of the Cycle of Hope community, you’re building a Bay Area where everyone has a decent place to live.
